Childhood dreams can come true...

Updated: May 29, 2018

Annie and I have been friends for a very very long time - since I was 3 and she was 4.

When we were kids we were inseparable, and the adventures we had were of epic proportion! The farm was our playground and we ruled her like two magnificent, tiny queens.

Now I'm back on the farm with my darling husband and the sweetest little daughter and loving being where my roots run deep. I get to wake up where I grew up, and nothing could be better. Yeah, it's chilly much of the year and you have to drive at least an hour to get any, where but it's home, glorious home!

The other week was a bit surreal for us all, with Annie returning to our childhood haunt, accompanied by her two gorgeous little girls.

We used to make-believe that when we were all grown up we'd lived in the house where my family and I are living now (a house that my great-uncle build using concrete blocks hand-made with sand from the Numeralla River) and we would plan out our rooms and garden and lives - we were going to be singers and travel the world, mainly around Ireland for some reason!

We returned to our childhoods for the day (though part of our fantasies now realised what with me living in our then-future castle), and once again adventured our way through the forests and mountains of our past.

It was glorious and more, as this time we had company - our girls.

How lucky are we! Our children are going to grow up together like we did, able to adventure like us, into the sunset.

Herstory was certainly repeating itself and boy did it feel amazing!
